Your Primary Care Network and Neighbourhood

Hackney Marshes PCN

We are part of a Primary Care Network (PCN) we are one of 5 GP surgeries, which together make up Hackney Marshes PCN.

We work together to offer appropriate and necessary services to the people who live in our area.

Our Practices

  • Lower Clapton Group Practice
  • Athena Medical Centre
  • Kingsmead Surgery
  • Latimer Health Centre
  • The Lea Surgery)

What is a PCN?

A primary care network is a group of practices who work together to focus on local patient care. They’ve been around since 2019 and 99 per cent of practices across England now work as part of one.

With increased demand and a shortage of clinical staff, practices find they can provide greater, more personalised care for patients when they can work together on certain services or issues.

What does the PCN offer?

Through the PCN we offer our Extended Access service which is appointments out of normal working ours.

If you need an Extended Access appointment please contact us through askmyGP or by telephone.

Pilot Programmes

Community Gynaecology pilot

We are very lucky to be the first PCN in City and Hackney to offer appointments with a Gynaecologist/GP with additional qualifications in gynaecology at Lower Clapton Group Practice and The Lea Surgery 2 Thursdays a month.

This means that when your GP refers you to the community gynaecology service you will be seen at one of these surgeries so you don’t need to travel all the way to St Leonards in Hoxton.

Nephrology Pilot

We are proud to be part of the pilot that is exploring better relationships with the London Kidney Network and our local kidney doctors at The Homerton, The Royal London and Whipps Cross Hospitals.

The aim is to improve our patients care for those who have known kidney disease or something new affecting their kidneys.
